Walking down memory lane

I’ve been scrolling photos from the past several years. Really went down a rabbit hole, since I was really only looking for a photography session I did at a rug hoooking guild meeting in September. But it gave me the urge to once again work on this blog. Not because anyone is reading it, but because it has served as a scrapbook in the past.

So, I’m just going to try to do a few days of catch up with some photos from 2025. Today, I will start with January of 2025 – during the middle of the second winter here on the Cape that we have spent as full time, fully retired Cape Cod residents!

I was at the Cabin Fever quilting retreat in Southbury, my old “stomping grounds” over MLK weekend. We had snow. We had lots of fun. We got lots of quilting done.

And, back on Cape Cod, Hubby and I were participating in the Frozen Feet Challenge, walking at least a mile a day outdoors, no matter what kind of weather. We had some very cold winter weather here — strong winds, cold temps. And we also did some walking in the snow. Footprints on the rail trail ……..

Beginning of Fall – If October is the Beginning

Walks on the Cape Cod Rail Trail are a favorite thing any time of year. And are actually a “must do” for any week to be complete here. Hubby likes the noise of the crunchy fall leaves underfoot, and the last few days have provided the sights and sounds of fall.

A couple of photos to illustrate the point.

A crunchy path awaits. Doesn’t this make you just walk around the corner to see what’s there?

Lupine Day

A beautiful day for a walk — up to Fort Hill. And a beautiful reward once we got there

Spring! At least in New Jersey

So, I’m really allergic to the fragrance that comes from Bradford Pear trees (ornamental tree pictured below). However, they are such a sign of early spring that the sniffles are worth it.

We took a beautiful, short walk with our friends Dave and Jane (and Milo) in one of their suburban parks in the middle of New Jersey. This tree was irresistible on a beautiful, sunny Spring morning. It’s hard to argue with this kind of day.

Milo was riding shotgun and anxiously looking through the windshield as the park appeared on the horizon. Time for a walk! Time for a walk! Time for a walk!

Looking forward always — to where we are going — is it the park???
